Restorative Practices & Black Liberation Internship (Hybird)

Internship Responsibilities Interns will: Support restorative practice programming, events, circles, and community initiatives Assist with documenting programs and events through photography and videography to support organizational storytelling, marketing, and community engagement efforts. Attend community gatherings, workshops, and networking opportunities alongside the Executive Director Build professional relationships with community leaders, nonprofit partners, and movement organizations Assist with outreach, organizing, and networking follow up for the Executive Director Participate in discussions focused on healing justice, transformative justice, and Black liberation practices Engage in reflective learning, leadership development, and collaborative team spaces Develop and complete a capstone project in partnership with the Executive Director Learning Outcomes By the end of the internship, participants will: Gain foundational exposure to restorative justice practices and community-based healing work Strengthen professional networking and relationship-building skills Develop confidence navigating nonprofit, advocacy, and organizing spaces Build leadership, communication, and collaboration skills Deepen understanding of Black liberation frameworks and community empowerment strategies Complete a meaningful capstone project connected to social impact and liberation-centered work Capstone Project Details Each intern will complete a capstone project centered on Black liberation practices. Rather than assigning one specific project, interns will be encouraged to develop ideas that reflect their passions, academic interests, lived experiences, and community concerns. Throughout the internship, interns will collaborate directly with the Executive Director to refine, strengthen, and finalize their capstone vision. Possible capstone formats may include: Community workshops or healing circles Storytelling, art, or multimedia projects Community research initiatives Resource guides or toolkits Public presentations or community conversations The capstone process is designed to help interns practice leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and liberation-centered problem solving while creating a project with meaningful community impact. Qualifications We welcome applicants who are: Current college students or recent graduates Passionate about social justice, restorative justice, community healing, or Black liberation work Interested in nonprofit leadership, organizing, advocacy, or community engagement Strong communicators who are willing to learn and collaborate Open to personal growth, reflection, and relationship-centered work Able to work respectfully across diverse communities and experiences Previous experience is appreciated but not required. We value lived experience, authenticity, creativity, and a genuine commitment to community. The position is hybrid, with in person meetings being necessary approximately 4 times per month. The in-person meetings will take place in RRB offices in Baltimore, Maryland.
