CaliTacos is opening a brand-new location in Scottsdale in october, and we’re looking for dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Line Cooks / Prep Cooks to join our opening kitchen team.
CaliTacos is a fresh Mexican food concept known for our quesotacos, birria, and made-fresh food. We operate 7 days a week from 7:00 AM–10:00 PM, including dine-in and drive-thru service.
Our kitchen team is responsible for producing consistent, high-quality food quickly while maintaining strict standards for food safety, cleanliness, portion control, and organization.

At CaliTacos, we work as a team—not as individuals working separate stations.
We expect our kitchen team to help each other whenever needed. If your station is caught up and another team member needs help, you step in and help. During busy periods, everyone works together to keep orders moving and maintain our food-quality standards.
You may be asked to help with prep, cooking, stocking, cleaning, dishes, or another station depending on what the team needs. No job is beneath anyone, and we expect everyone to contribute to the success of the entire kitchen.
What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to CaliTacos recipes and procedures
• Work multiple kitchen stations as trained and assigned
• Prepare ingredients for service, including meats, vegetables, sauces, toppings, and other menu components
• Follow recipes, portion standards, cooking procedures, and presentation standards
• Cook food to the correct temperatures and specifications
• Maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service
• Assemble orders accurately and efficiently
• Work closely with the entire kitchen and front-of-house team to keep orders moving
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management during busy periods
• Help other team members whenever your station is caught up or additional help is needed
• Step into different kitchen positions as needed during the shift
• Monitor food levels and communicate when additional product or prep is needed
• Complete daily prep lists and maintain proper rotation of ingredients
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate food
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation
• Clean and sanitize equipment, prep areas, cooking surfaces, and other kitchen areas
• Follow all CaliTacos food safety and sanitation procedures
• Properly handle knives, cooking equipment, hot surfaces, and other kitchen equipment
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures
• Minimize food waste while maintaining quality and proper portions
• Support your teammates and communicate when you need help or when someone else needs help
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude during busy shifts

Bilingual applicants are a plus!
Experience
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required for every position.
Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Line cooking
• Prep cooking
• Mexican or Latin food
• Fast-casual restaurants
• High-volume restaurants
• Drive-thru operations
• Food preparation
• Commercial kitchen equipment
• Food safety and sanitation
