Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector Pay rate: $20.00-$24.00 Location: South Requirements: Basic understanding of GD&T & k nowledge of IPC-A-610 standards is preferred. Job Description: Responsible for the incoming quality inspection of electronic, electro- mechanical, microprocessor-based systems, radio communication equipment, cables, harnesses, and mechanical components used in mining safety products. Ensures that all incoming materials meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements before being released to production, recognizing the safety-critical nature of mining applications. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of PCBAs, cable assemblies, subassemblies, finished products, aluminum housings, casted housings, machined components, plastic parts, and other purchased materials. Verify product compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, quality standards, and customer requirements. Conduct visual inspections of electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards. Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other inspection tools. Verify cosmetic appearance, dimensional accuracy, labeling, markings, surface finishes, and overall product workmanship. Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials following established quality procedures. Complete inspection reports, First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, inspection records, and nonconformance reports accurately and on time. Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by providing inspection results and objective evidence. Verify product traceability and ensure proper identification throughout the inspection process. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, company procedures, and applicable industry standards. Assist Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supplier Quality teams in investigating product quality issues and implementing corrective actions. Maintain inspection equipment in good condition and ensure only calibrated equipment is used. Follow ESD, safety, and housekeeping requirements while handling electronic components and assemblies. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring quality issues and recommending process improvements. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. (pre-requisite) Driver license Experience in QC Inspection of electro-mechanical assemblies or cable fabrication (favorable) Current or past IPC-A-610 certification (favorable) Working knowledge of computers, ability to support data collection and daily operations as needed; any additional requirements as implemented.
