Jack in the Box – Assistant Manager: Store 3068 Location: Oceanside, CA 92054 – $20.00–$24.00 per hour – Full time. Job Description Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities include providing excellent internal service, external service, and building restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Key Duties & Responsibilities Internal Service: Recruit, select, train, develop, and evaluate employees; monitor staffing; implement training systems; develop internal candidates; support “My Promise to You” and the Service Profit Chain; maintain a friendly, clean, and safe environment; treat employees with care and respect; motivate and inspire; comply with labor laws. External Service: Manage daily activities to achieve operational excellence; ensure guest experience, training, accountability; maintain food quality, safety, and cleanliness; respond to guest concerns; serve as a role model. Higher Profits: Analyze operational and financial performance; identify trends; develop action plans; protect brand; monitor costs and budget adherence. Assistant Manager Responsibilities Guest Focus: Provide high quality guest experience, exceed expectations, manage fast‑paced environment. Food Quality & Safety: Ensure food quality, safety, and cleanliness; use established systems. Business Management: Adjust to demands, change initiatives, urgent decisions; delegate and follow up; maintain organization and attention to detail. Other Duties: Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum 1 year as Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in customer service (internal promotion) with 100% certification in all workstations; or minimum 3 years as Assistant Manager with P&L responsibility (external recruitment). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: At least 18 years old; complete Assistant Manager training; ServSafe certified; English proficiency; strong interpersonal, math, analytical, and organizational skills; self‑starter; PC and software proficiency; valid driver’s license, insurance, and ability to travel as required. Physical Requirements: Stand and walk 85–95% of shift; lift 10–65 lbs; move freely; operate equipment and drive vehicle; use computer keyboard.
