Under direction, the purpose of the position is to provide medical care and services to students according to physician prescribed medical care and treatment orders. Employees in this classification are responsible for addressing medical emergencies, assessing circumstances and conditions, and resolving such according to established procedures and protocols. Performs related work as directed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accurately administers physician-prescribed daily medications and treatments (such as managing diabetes, and asthma inhalations) while ensuring every child feels safe, cared for, and heard.
• Conducts routine vision, hearing, scoliosis, and Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings to proactively support students' physical growth and development.
• Handily manages playground scrapes, sudden fevers, and medical emergencies with calm, decisive action, adhering strictly to OCPS safety protocols.
• Works hand-in-hand with parents, teachers, the school evaluation team, and telehealth providers to coordinate digital medical records (via Skyward) and tailor care plans for students with unique needs.
• Maintains an exceptionally clean, organized, and sanitary clinic environment, creating a welcoming "home-away-from-home" space where students can rest and recover.
