Sales Representative, Home Care

Right at Home North Richmond is a newly licensed, locally owned home care company. We are hiring our first Sales Representative to build our referral network from the ground up, reporting directly to the owners.

This is a sales job with a clear purpose. Every account you open puts a caregiver in a home and keeps someone where they want to be.

What the Sales Representative will do

The Sales Representative role splits roughly 70/30 between outside sales and inside sales.

Outside sales, about 70% of your week

• Build and work a referral pipeline: hospital discharge planners, skilled nursing and rehab, assisted living, case managers, elder law attorneys, and physician offices

• Pre-plan weekly sales activity and make in-person sales calls across the territory every day

• Own account management for your referral sources: regular visits, follow-up, education, and solving problems before they cost us a referral

• Log every sales activity in our CRM so the pipeline is visible and repeatable

• Represent Right at Home at community events and senior organizations

Inside sales, about 30% of your week

• Answer inbound care inquiries and run a consultative sales call with the family

• Listen for the real need behind the call, explain what home care does, and bring the family to a decision

• Schedule in-home consultations, confirm care start dates, and hand off to operations so the first shift goes right

What we offer

• $55,000 to $65,000 base salary, based on experience

• Commission on new care hours

• Paid mileage

• Paid time off

• Paid training, including home care sales and Virginia regulatory training

• A hybrid schedule: most days in the field, the rest in our West End office

• A territory nobody has worked yet. You build the referral base from zero and you get credit for it

• Direct access to ownership and real input on pricing, positioning, and where we grow

What you need

• Two or more years as an outside sales representative, B2B sales rep, or account manager in a quota-carrying sales role

• A track record you can show: quota attainment, accounts opened, revenue or market share added

• Comfortable making in-person cold calls and asking for the referral

• Strong phone presence. You will be talking to families on a hard day, and empathy is what closes that call

• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and a reliable insured vehicle. You will drive daily

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred, not required

• Home care, home health, hospice, senior living, medical sales, or pharmaceutical sales experience

• Existing relationships with Richmond-area healthcare referral sources

• CRM experience

Coming from medical sales or pharmaceutical sales? Same consultative motion, shorter sales cycle. Coming from retail sales, route sales, or telecom sales? Those backgrounds convert well here and we will train you on the home care side.

Territory

Our office is in Richmond's West End (23229). We sell across 14 zip codes: Henrico's West End, Glen Allen and Short Pump, Richmond City, Hanover County, and King William County.
