Surgical Tech Location: Northridge, CA Agency: Fusion Medical Staffing Pay: $1,374 to $1,462 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 7/28/2026 Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Northridge, California. The role supports surgical procedures, maintains sterile environments, and ensures equipment functionality. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room and arrange instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures. Handle specimens with precision and follow institutional protocols. Verify the availability of surgical supplies and check machines and equipment for proper functioning prior to surgery. Assist with patient transfer to and from surgery as required. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies during procedures. Coordinate patient care with other health team members. Decontaminate and assist in sterilization of instruments, surfaces, and other supplies. Ensure instruments, gowns, drapes, surfaces, and supplies meet infection control standards. Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Surgical Tech. Valid state license/certification or registration in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification. Additional certifications and licenses as required for the position. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency with PC skills. Physical abilities: endure stationary position, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintain positive attitude. Technical/motor skills: perform fine manipulation and assistance during procedures. Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close or independent supervision, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain continuous concentration to detail.
