AVECCC - Gilbert, AZ Veterinary Technician Supervisor (Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center) is a 24‑hour veterinary emergency and critical care and specialty center in Gilbert, AZ. Compensation $23-$29 per hour (DOE) Schedule: Various schedules available, apply to learn more Job Purpose: The purpose of the Veterinary Technician Supervisor is to provide high quality medical support and nursing care to companion animal patients in addition to providing top leadership and oversight to the technicians, supports the emergency veterinarians and assists the organization of the daily workflow of the hospital. Duties & Responsibilities Training – Assist in development of training protocols and procedures; interview potential new technicians and technician assistants; perform leveling and reviews; conduct mid and annual performance reviews; document training and coaching sessions. Lead the veterinary technician team, mentor staff, ensure appropriate medical techniques, demonstrate positive customer service, provide feedback to Senior Leadership Team, follow up on coaching. Communicate between leadership team and technical staff; schedule and conduct bi‑weekly Technician Lead meetings; provide agenda; disseminate Skill of the Week topics; conduct quarterly/bi‑annual check‑ins; participate in team meetings with leadership to identify areas for improvement, ensure consistent messaging, develop cohesive team. Notify Assistant Hospital Manager if policies not followed or duties not completed. Lab – meet regularly with Lab Officer to maintain equipment and supplies. Radiology – collaborate with Radiology Officer to enforce radiation safety, manage badges. Equipment – collaborate with Equipment Manager to address broken equipment and supplies; ensure proper maintenance in surgery, isolation areas. Surgery – train staff on cleaning and wrapping surgical packs; ensure surgical suite stocked, cleaned, maintained. Isolation – keep clean and stocked; maintain equipment and supplies. Engagement – improve staff retention, foster growth culture; identify opportunities for growth; assess engagement survey results; develop new policies and SOP; reinforce supportive team environment; lead by example; pursue leadership development; maintain professional knowledge; advocate for improvements. Hospital Operations – resolve client needs, concerns, complaints; manage scheduling for technical staff; maintain staffing levels; full‑time, minimum 36 hours per week; split time between training, communication, engagement.
