Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Smith-Kitsmiller Insurance Agency is looking for an experienced Licensed Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team.

Pay: $38,000–$55,000 per year, based on experience

Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | Daytime hours

We are an established independent insurance agency serving the Mid-Michigan community for more than 40 years. We're looking for a dependable, personable insurance professional who enjoys helping customers and is interested in a stable, long-term career with a local agency.

What You'll Do

• Provide excellent service to existing and prospective customers
• Handle policy changes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and billing questions
• Review insurance policies and coverage with customers
• Prepare quotes for new and existing customers
• Assist with personal lines and commercial lines accounts
• Issue certificates of insurance and other policy documents
• Communicate with insurance carriers regarding underwriting and policy questions
• Assist customers with claims-related questions
• Identify opportunities to improve coverage and cross-sell additional insurance products
• Maintain accurate customer and policy information
• Follow up with customers and insurance carriers

What We're Looking For

• Current Michigan Property & Casualty insurance license required
• Previous insurance agency experience preferred
• Personal lines experience strongly preferred
• Commercial lines experience is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good computer and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Dependable, professional, and team-oriented

Candidates with significant independent agency experience and experience handling both personal and commercial lines may qualify toward the upper end of the salary range.
