North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and professional Political Canvassers to support our grassroots field efforts throughout New York State Senate District 44.

This is a district-wide canvassing position. Canvassers will be assigned to door-knock in communities throughout ALL of New York State Senate District 44 and should be prepared to travel to different areas of the district based on program needs. This position is not limited to Saratoga Springs or any single municipality.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is passionate about civic engagement and committed to promoting Democratic causes. Political Canvassers are on the front lines of our campaign operations, having direct conversations with voters to inform, persuade, and mobilize support for candidates and initiatives.

About the Role

As a Political Canvasser, you'll play a critical role in the democratic process through face-to-face voter engagement. Canvassers will conduct door-to-door voter outreach across New York State Senate District 44 and may receive assignments in different communities throughout the district.

Responsibilities typically include delivering campaign messages, speaking directly with voters, collecting and accurately recording voter contact data, and building support for candidates and issues in the community.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing throughout New York State Senate District 44
• Travel to and canvass in different communities within the district based on daily and weekly program assignments
• Deliver persuasive, accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives
• Record daily voter contact data and submit reports to program leadership
• Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals
• Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity
• Attend trainings and team meetings to stay aligned on strategy and talking points
• Build positive relationships with voters to strengthen community trust

Qualifications

• Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week when a program is active
• Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort engaging strangers
• Reliable, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable conducting door-to-door canvassing throughout NY Senate District 44, rather than working exclusively in one city or neighborhood
• Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
• Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing is a plus, but not required
• Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation
• Capable of meeting deadlines and performance targets
