Lymphedema Specialist - Physical Therapist

We are seeking a Certified Lymphedema Therapist—a licensed Physical Therapist who has completed a certified lymphedema training course—to evaluate and treat patients with lymphedema of the upper extremities, lower extremities, head/neck, breast, and genitals at our outpatient Burlington clinic. The CLT will guide patients through Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), develop maintenance programs, and assist with customizing garments, home exercise programs, and specialized equipment such as pneumatic compression pumps. Formulate a detailed assessment based on examination findings. Develop treatment plan and patient outcomes incorporating input from patient, family, and other health professionals. Ensure plan is functional, time-based, and measurable. Treatment Planning and Intervention: Safely and effectively implement treatment interventions. Engage patient motivation and cooperation, evidenced by compliance. Provide patient/family education during therapy and in preparation for discharge. Conduct ongoing assessments and revise treatment interventions, goals, and outcomes as needed. Discharge Planning: Initiate discharge planning and incorporate patient/family input. Participate in multidisciplinary patient care planning and consult others as needed. Discontinue unproductive treatment when indicated and transfer patient to nursing or other appropriate staff. Document discharge summary per department policy. Patient Care Documentation: Maintain accurate medical record documentation per department policy. Document initial evaluation, daily treatment notes, reassessments, and discharge summaries according to standards. Productivity / Statistics: Meet department standards for productivity. Delegate tasks to support staff when appropriate. Complete daily statistics by end of business day. Assist in quality improvement initiatives and data collection. Training, Education, and Information Sharing: Attend internal and external educational programs and read professional journals to maintain and enhance PT skills. Provide lectures, training, mentorship to staff. Provide feedback to manager on staff and department functions. Supervise students, orient, train, and mentor new staff. Provide internal and external lectures. Career Development: Maintain PT skills and knowledge per the Lahey Rehabilitation Services Career Ladder. Meet qualification requirements for Physical Therapist II every two years. Document achievements and maintain ongoing record of activities. Leadership Responsibility: Assume charge responsibility in absence of supervisor. Assist in development and oversight of quality assurance programs. Develop, plan, and upgrade programs and protocols; identify need for and implement new programs. Organizational Requirements: Adhere to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Confidentiality Policy. Minimum Qualifications Education: BS Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Licensure: Active MA Physical Therapy license. Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Experience: Minimum of two years as a licensed PT in a clinical setting. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of PT theory and practice. Ability to observe, assess, and record objective findings. Critical judgement and thinking skills. Effective communication of medical information. Knowledge of physical therapy services, facilities, and equipment. Assessment of individual patient needs. Maintenance of patient medical record. Knowledge of range of therapy methods and techniques. Maintenance of quality, safety, and infection control standards. Use of independent judgement to manage confidential information. Leadership and mentorship ability. Pay Range $41.08 - $57.52 per hour. Actual compensation may exceed the base range depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices.
