Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC)

Northern Pines Mental Health Center is proud to offer competitive wages and an exceptional benefits package!We are seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor to join our Substance Use Disorder Services team. The general purpose of this position is to provide co-occurring substance abuse counseling services.Essential Functions include:Complete duties regarding client services including: screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling (group, individual & family), case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, reports, recordkeeping, and consultationFollow and support the SUDS philosophy, policies, procedures, and job responsibilitiesDevelop and maintain appropriate professional relationships with referral sources and community agenciesDiagnose substance abuse disordersMeet with families to identify needs for services and to make appropriate referralsMaintain records according to the SUDS policies and procedures along with co-occurring regulationsWork as an active and effective treatment team memberMay assist in the training of paraprofessionals in performance of clinical dutiesWWill collaborate with education programs/institutions to coordinate educational needs of adolescent clientsQualifications include:Current, unrestricted license as an LADC in the State of MNCurrent First Aid and CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or willingness to obtain upon hireAt least one year of work experience in direct service to individuals with substance use problems or one year of work experience in the management or administration of direct service to individuals with substance use problemsA Bachelor’s degree or three years of work experience in administration or personnel supervision in human servicesEducation or experience in co-occurring disordersTravel is a function of this position; ability to operate a motor vehicle along with a valid driver’s license is required.Compensation & Benefits include:A starting wage of $64,000 annuallyHealth, Dental, Disability and Life insurance with other additional voluntary options for spousal life, short term disability, accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness plansHealth Savings account with employer contribution401K with employer matchGenerous paid time off (1st - 3rd year, full-time employees earn 19 days/152 hours per year.
