Position SummaryThe Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to support accurate and timely patient diagnosis and treatment. This role ensures high-quality radiographic images while prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and dignity. The technologist collaborates with providers and care teams to deliver efficient, patient-centered services in both routine and emergency situations. This position also supports departmental operations, equipment maintenance, and scheduling functions to ensure continuity of care in rural healthcare. **Offering $10,000.00 sign on bonus**Title: Radiology Technologist Job Code: 2944Status: Full Time & PRN Department: RadiologyLocation: Share Medical Center Supervisor: Radiology DirectorRequired SkillsDemonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all imagingCommitment to excellent customer service and support patient-centered careCommunicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff in a professional mannerManage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and radiology systemsStrong knowledge of radiation safety, patient positioning, imaging techniques and radiology equipment operationQualificationsAssociate degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited programCurrent registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Current BLS Certification (Must obtain within 90 days of hire)Key ResponsibilitiesPerform radiographic procedures adhering to physician orders and department standardsPrepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality radiographic imagesPractice radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and selfMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health recordVerifies orders, confirms patient identity and explains procedures to ensure patient understanding and comfort.Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring proper function and reporting malfunctionsManage inventory of radiology supplies, coordinating with central supply as neededMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with infection control standardsParticipate in weekend and evening on-call rotation, must be able to respond within 20 minutes for emergency imaging needs, staying onsite if needed.Respond to emergency situations, including codes, and assist as neededCollaborate with providers, nurses, and other departments to ensure quality of patient careAssist with scheduling and coordination of imaging services for X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Mammogram based on patient needs and urgencyConfirm appointments and provide necessary pre-appointment instructionsParticipate in continuing education and maintain required certifications and competenciesMonitor patient condition during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions or emergenciesEnsure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, including utilization of SQSS (Strategic Quality Support System) for compliance tracking.Adhere to all hospital policy and procedure, follow HIPAA guidelines, available for duty in the event of a disaster, completes all required educational training and performs other job duties as assigned.Physical RequirementsFrequent standing and walking throughout clinical areas for extended periods.Ability to assist with lifting, repositioning, transferring, or supporting patients.Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently.Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling while performing clinical tasks.Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate medical equipment, and document care.Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare team members.Ability to visually read medical charts and operate clinical technology.Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.Reasonable accommodations may be provided in accordance with ADA requirementsPotential HazardsExposure to hospital-related hazards including blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, electric shock, and chemicals.
