Technologist Trainee
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Technologist Trainee for its Gresham, Oregon laboratory facility on a casual/per diem basis. This entry-level role involves performing laboratory procedures, operating instruments, and processing specimens. Full training is provided for new graduates.
Responsibilities
- Assess specimen acceptability according to established quality standards
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental protocols
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Prepare, test, and evaluate reagents and quality control materials
- Document and perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in team settings
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed
