Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Job Summary

Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is seeking an experienced Accountant to support its Accounting team during a temporary vacancy. The Accountant will assist with general accounting operations, month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting data analysis.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, be comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment, and preferably have experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general accounting duties to support the Accounting team.
Assist with the month-end accounting close process.
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
Perform account reconciliations and account balancing.
Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
Gather, validate, and analyze accounting data from multiple systems.
Research and resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.
Support foundation-related accounting entries as needed.
Utilize general ledger and financial reporting tools, including Hyperion when applicable.
Maintain accurate accounting and analytical records.
Communicate discrepancies or issues promptly to the appropriate team members.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Candidates without a degree may be considered with 15+ years of accounting experience, particularly in hospital accounting.
Experience preparing journal entries and posting to ledgers.
Experience with account reconciliations, account balancing, and month-end close activities.
Comfortable working with multiple accounting and financial systems.
Ability to work independently and resolve issues through research and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Hospital or healthcare accounting experience.
Experience with foundation accounting or related entries.
Experience with Hyperion or similar financial reporting systems.
Experience working in a health system accounting environment.

Additional Details

Hybrid schedule with approximately 3 onsite days and 2 remote days per week.
Onsite days may rotate; Wednesday is commonly an onsite day for the full team.
No weekends or holidays.
Flexible start time between approximately 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, with a consistent start time preferred.
Standard workday is approximately 8.5 hours.
Opportunity for permanent conversion may be considered based on performance and business needs.
Limited time off may be available around Thanksgiving and Christmas, subject to manager approval.
