Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation and DNR. The surgical focus is orthopedics and joints. Previous experience in Medical-Surgical Orthopedics is required. Travelers with first-time travel experience will be accepted. Work setting requires skills in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry. The average daily census is 34 with 48 beds available. The unit requires flexibility, as travelers may need to float if the census drops. Weekend coverage includes 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. The patient population consists primarily of surgical cases with some medical overflow. Common diagnoses include total knee replacement, total hip replacement, spinal fusions, and orthopedic trauma. Special equipment includes frequent utilization of wound vacs and drains. Unit systems include Pyxis and EPIC. There is no designated call requirement for this position. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. Scrubs are not provided; navy blue scrubs are required.
