About the Position

Job Title: RN - Med Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: Critical thinking skills BLS/ACLS Description: BACKFILL - CONTRACT - RN - MED SURG 13 Weeks - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Nights - 12 hours, weekends rotate; No call Unit Information: Number of Beds: 20 Patient Ratios: 5:1 on days, 5-6:1 on nights Equipment: CPM, T-stat, wound vac Typical Hiring Profile: Must have candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Candidates will be preferred if able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform relief charge duties. Over a year of nursing experience is recommended. Typical Procedures Performed: Orthopedics Neuro Urology Thyroidectomy Hysterectomy DIEPs Best Personality Fit: Friendly and able to connect with patients and multidisciplinary team. Flexible with working days. Avoid gossip and maintain responsive communication. Dress Code: Scrub color: Navy Blue Personal clothes are not acceptable. Unit Guidelines: Taking breaks is mandatory on the unit. All staff are responsible for taking their breaks during a 12-hour shift. Recognition: Staff are recognized on the spot and through various colleague recognition programs. Additional Information: State-of-the-art specialty hospital with large patient rooms. All necessary equipment for patient care is available. The unit focuses on patient satisfaction. Daily patient rounding is conducted to ensure patients receive the care they need. Staff members are friendly and welcoming. Flexible scheduling options, including self-scheduling and the ability to trade shifts.
