Tax and Accounting Assistant

Job Full Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax & Accounting Assistant to support a busy accounting office serving multiple business clients. This position is ideal for someone with recent tax processing and payroll tax filing experience who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.


This role offers a very flexible afternoon and evening schedule, allowing you to create a schedule that works best for you, along with opportunity for long-term growth.

Job Summary

• Prepare and file 941 quarterly payroll tax reports
• Process monthly state withholding and unemployment filings
• Assist with end-of-year payroll reporting, including W-2 preparation and federal/state payroll reports
• Support tax preparation and tax processing for business clients
• Review financial reports and accounting records for accuracy
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Enter and maintain accurate accounting data in QuickBooks
• Work with multiple business clients and maintain organized financial records

Qualifications and Experience

• Recent QuickBooks Enterprise or QuickBooks Desktop experience required
• Experience with tax accounting and payroll tax filing programs required
• Prior experience handling tax filings for multiple business clients preferred
• Knowledge of payroll processing, quarterly filings, and year-end reporting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently

Position Type: Evaluation to Hire


Pay: $17.00/hr
