Sorter

Job Summary:
The Sorter is responsible for safely and efficiently sorting recyclable and non-recyclable materials on a conveyor line at a waste processing facility. This role is critical to ensuring proper waste handling, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:


Sort and separate recyclable materials (plastic, paper, metal, etc.) from waste stream on a conveyor belt
Remove contaminants and ensure proper placement of materials into designated bins
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Assist with facility cleanup and basic maintenance tasks as needed
Report equipment issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions to supervisors
Work efficiently to meet daily production and sorting goals


Qualifications:


Clean Background and Drug screen
Previous experience in a labor, warehouse, or recycling environment is a plus
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Reliable attendance and punctuality

Work Environment:


Industrial setting with exposure to noise, dust, odors, and varying temperatures
Continuous standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion
