Coverage Details
Coverage begins as soon as credentialed
Duration: 3 months
Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days; temporary hospital privileges available

Shift Details
On-site Hospital coverage 7:30am-3:30pm
Night call 3:30pm-11pm
Saturday & Sunday call 7:30am-11pm

Requirements
Board Certified
California License
ACLS certification for sedation
Clean malpractice history for temporary privileges
Local candidate preferred

Required Procedures / Skills
Lumbar punctures
Barium studies
Various centesis exams with drains and CT/US biopsies preferred
IR Procedures (Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Nephrostomy Tubes, Intra-abdominal abscess drainage, Chest Tubes, Suprapubic Catheters); Biopsies (Thyroid, Lung, Other). Need a radiologist on-site who can perform basic IR procedures such as parenthesis, thoracentesis, chest tubes, placement of drains, biopsies, lumbar punctures, supervise barium swallows, etc.


Assignment Details
Basic IR procedures such as parenthesis, thoracentesis, chest tubes, placement of drains, biopsies, lumbar punctures, supervise barium swallows, etc.
Inpatient setting
1.0 FTE
1 provider needed, possibly 2
Average daily studies from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM:
Plain film X-Ray: 100
Ultrasounds: 35
CT: 100
IR Cases: 7
Average studies from 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM: 48 studies consisting mostly of CT, Ultrasound, and plain X-Ray
EMR: Cerner
In IR, there are 5 trained staff members with hours from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM; call starts at 3:30 PM until 11:00 PM
3 CT units staffed 24 hours a day
1 fluoroscopy room for lumbar punctures, barium swallows, and various fluoroscopy studies
3 portable X-Ray units and 1 trauma unit in the ED
4 C-arms for surgical coverage and 1 O-arm for neurosurgical coverage
64 total techs, including per diem staff, covering the hospital 24/7
PACS System: Merge PACS
Voice Recognition System: Powerscribe
Full-time opportunity available
