Fosters, encourages emotional wellbeing, cognitive developmental opportunities for young patients and their families. Promotes a family centered care that reduces stress, helps with coping, provides activities to normalize and encourage social interaction. Supports developmental integrity through play experiences by creating a safe environment. Orients hospital staff of the psychosocial needs of children and their families and fosters positive hospital community relations.Experience QualificationsMinimum Required: Completion of Child Life Internship and eligible to sit for Certification Exam.Preferred: Two years' clinical experience in pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.Licenses and CertificationsPreferred: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) – (per the Certifying Commission and Association for Child Life Professionals guidelines and requirements)Special Skills and TrainingMinimum Required: eligible to become CPR certified, CPI trained, Trach TrainedPreferred: CPR certificationThe above job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this work.
