Moore Mechanical | Grand Rapids, MI

Hourly Pay: $27–$47+

• Apprentice 2 (2+ years): $27–$34
• Journeyman 1 (0–3 years): $37.75–$42
• Journeyman 2 (3+ years): $44–$47
• Master Plumber: $47+

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and applicable wage classification.

$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Licensed Journeyman Plumbers!

This position is represented by UA Local 174, West Michigan Plumbers, Fitters and Service Trades.

You do not need to be a current union member to apply!

Selected candidates will be required to complete the applicable union registration and onboarding process. Compensation, benefits, and other terms of employment will be governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities will vary based on experience, classification, and placement within our installation or service division and may include:

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial plumbing systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings
• Diagnose plumbing issues and recommend practical, long-term solutions
• Ensure all work meets Michigan plumbing code requirements and company quality standards
• Coordinate work with General Contractors, Project Managers, field leadership, and other trades
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of materials, labor, repairs, and completed work
• Anticipate material needs and communicate shortages before they impact production
• Mentor apprentices and support the development of less experienced plumbers, as applicable
• Support crew leadership and project success on larger projects
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
• Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite protocols

What We're Looking For

We're currently seeking experienced plumbers with backgrounds in installation, service, or both.

• Minimum 2 years of plumbing experience required
• Current Michigan Journeyman or Master Plumbing License preferred
• Experienced apprentices with at least 2 years of plumbing experience encouraged to apply
• Residential and/or commercial plumbing experience
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation or repair methods appropriate to experience level
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently or under appropriate supervision based on experience and classification
• Experience mentoring apprentices or leading small crews preferred for journeyman and master-level positions
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Minimum age of 18
