Our client is looking to bring on a SEO Strategist who is responsible for driving the overall search strategy and performance of assigned client accounts. This role serves as the strategic lead, defining priorities, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring all SEO initiatives are aligned to measurable business outcomes. Working closely with specialized execution teams, the Strategist develops data-driven roadmaps across technical SEO, content, on-page optimization, authority building, and local SEO. Rather than executing the work directly, this role owns the strategic direction of each account—ensuring the right initiatives are prioritized, communicated, and measured. Locations Onsite at one of three offices (Lisle, IL or Scottdale, AZ or Dallas, TX) Type Full-Time Key Responsibilities Own Account Performance Monitor overall SEO performance across traffic, rankings, visibility, and conversions. Analyze key page performance to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Connect performance changes to strategic initiatives and recommend next steps. Build comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with client objectives and business goals. Prioritize keyword opportunities, landing pages, and content initiatives. Develop actionable roadmaps that guide execution across all SEO disciplines. Lead Cross-Functional SEO Initiatives Provide strategic direction to on-page, technical, content, authority, and local SEO teams. Ensure execution priorities are aligned across all workstreams. Maintain visibility into ongoing initiatives and adjust priorities as business needs evolve. Guide Content Strategy Define content opportunities based on keyword research, search intent, and competitive analysis. Ensure content recommendations support both user experience and business objectives. Review and guide content direction to maximize organic performance. Reporting & Client Communication Translate SEO performance into meaningful insights and recommendations. Prepare monthly reporting that clearly communicates results, opportunities, and future priorities. Partner with Client Services to communicate strategy and performance with clients. Monitor Performance & Optimize Strategy Conduct ongoing performance reviews throughout the month. Adjust priorities based on algorithm updates, competitive shifts, and performance trends. Ensure the account remains focused on the highest-impact initiatives. What This Role Does Not Own To support scalability and operational efficiency, the SEO Strategist does not directly execute SEO deliverables. Responsibilities owned by specialized teams include: On-page optimization implementation Content brief creation and optimization Technical SEO implementation Link outreach and acquisition Google Business Profile and citation management Success in This Role Success is measured by the Strategist's ability to: Drive improvements in organic rankings, traffic, and conversions. Establish clear priorities that enable efficient execution. Minimize rework through thoughtful planning and communication. Deliver strategic insights backed by performance data. Build strong partnerships with execution teams and Client Services. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with strategic decision-making and excellent communication skills. They understand how search engines, user intent, and business objectives intersect and can translate performance data into clear, actionable strategies.
