About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Grants and Contracts Officer (CGCO) to serve as the senior organizational authority and expert in contracts and grants management. The CGCO will be responsible for leading the pre-award review process, assessing funding opportunities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role involves a deep understanding of federal and state funding regulations, nonprofit contract compliance, and grants administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex public funding portfolios and will be the primary resource for compliance within the organization. Key responsibilities for the CGCO include leading the go/no-go process for funding proposals, reviewing and approving all grant and contract agreements, and setting and enforcing standard operating procedures for the full grant lifecycle. The successful candidate will also be involved in post-award management, providing oversight of the closeout process, and serving as the organizational leader for compliance, contractual, and programmatic issues. Organizational leadership and people management are essential, as the role involves supervising and developing a central team, driving the implementation of the contracts and grants management framework, and ensuring that the financial reporting systems meet the necessary compliance standards. The CGCO will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and other senior staff to manage the organization's active portfolio of contracts and grants, which currently exceeds $70 million in total active funding value.
