This role offers the chance to guide and empower students with unique needs while working a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid North Carolina Special Education License
• Appropriate credentials and certifications required for Special Education teaching
• Experience working with high school-age students preferred
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Background or familiarity with behavior intervention strategies highly valued

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Adapt lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
• Maintain accurate records and progress documentation for each student
• Foster a positive, respectful classroom culture that celebrates diversity and encourages student participation
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to optimize student outcomes
• Address behavioral challenges using positive interventions and proactive strategies
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with stakeholders
