You’ll have: Summers and school holidays off No nights or weekends Time to build meaningful relationships A consistent school environment and schedule Support from HealthBar’s clinical team The opportunity to use your nursing skills while making a meaningful impact on a student’s ability to participate in school Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM 37.5 hours per week | 0.67 FTE Preferred Start Date: ASAP This role follows the school-year calendar for approximately 37 weeks per year, meaning: Summers off School holidays off Compensation Starting at $53,000 annually Approx $38.20/hr based on 37.5 hours per week over a 37-weeks Direct access to a clinical provider for you, your spouse, and dependents Discounted care through HealthBar’s healthcare network Medical insurance (with HSA option) Generous PTO Biannual Profit Sharing 401(k) Short- and long-term disability & life insurance Licensure and certification renewal support What Your Days Look Like You’ll provide skilled nursing support within the school environment, including: Providing individualized nursing care based on established health and care plans Monitoring the student’s health status throughout the school dayMonitoring for changes in muscle strength, breathing, or overall condition Providing support and monitoring during eating and drinking Monitoring the student’s tolerance for physical activity and responding appropriately to changes Administering medications as prescribed Completing routine medication passes during the school day Assessing and responding appropriately to illness, injuries, or changes in condition Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided Collaborating with teachers, administrators, family members, and other members of the student’s support team Supporting safe participation in classroom activities and daily school routines Assisting with general school health needs in the health office during periods when the student does not require direct nursing support This position is primarily focused on supporting a student with congenital myasthenic syndrome, a condition that can cause muscle weakness and may affect breathing, eating, and physical activity. The student is stable and independent, with the RN’s role focused primarily on monitoring and supporting the student throughout the school day, particularly around eating, drinking, and activity. The role also includes a few routine medication passes. During periods when the student does not require direct nursing support, the RN will assist with appropriate health office and school nursing responsibilities. The (Required) Qualifications To practice safely and compliantly, we do need: Active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license Experience working with pediatric patients or school-aged children preferred Strong assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to monitor a student independently and recognize changes in condition Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with school staff and families BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of hire Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role The pay range for this role is: 53,000 - 53,000 USD per year (SNP- Clarkston Community Schools) #J-18808-Ljbffr HealthBar
