Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized critical nursing care to cardiac surgery and intensive care patients in the CVICU. Oversees patient assessment, treatment planning, and coordination of care while supervising nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' cardiovascular status continuously.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and medical orders.
• Administer medications and treatments according to policies and physician directives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate complex patient care.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, medication management, and health promotion.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to nursing team members and supervise their execution.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in critical care or CVICU.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA or ARC.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and patient management skills.
