Job Summary

We are currently seeking a Service/Install Technician I to oversee and support all elements of service & installation for the commercial laundry industry, providing outstanding on-site service to VADC customers. Customers include commercial laundries, hospitals, hotels, coin laundries, and more.  In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial laundry equipment such as washer, dryers, ironers, folding machines, etc. at customers’ locations in the Mid-Atlantic region. Additionally, this role works closely with other service team members & our sales team to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support.  

Responsibilities

·    Complete install & service for commercial laundry equipment.

·    Operates, examines, and dismantles equipment to diagnose cause(s) of malfunction. Repairs or replaces parts/components, such as bearings, motors, and micro switches.

·    Master all basic safety-related tasks required, including but not limited to safe operation of hand/power tools, forklift/pallet jack, & other equipment to complete all duties.

·    Develop deep expertise in the commercial laundry industry and product offerings.  This role requires knowledgeability of technical specifications, & the ability to read/interpret/plan utilizing architectural drawings, construction plans, & building/equipment specifications.

·    Responsible for consistently conducting site visits for current customers & utilizing this time perform preventative maintenance on laundry equipment, includ. electrical, mechanical, gas, & air-compressed syst.

·    Records all site visits daily maintaining detailed logs with notes.

·    Records/completes work orders & submits to Accounting daily for billing.

·    Responsible for planning & execution of local/regional jobs that have been secured, by ensuring all parts, tools, & equip. are prepared/on-hand for a successful first-time install to meet customer timeline.

·    Maintaining company vehicle maintenance schedules & cleanliness.

·    Operate company vehicles & hauling equipment safely.

·    Represent VADC/MALS professionally at all times

·    Proactively handling & resolving customer issues regarding product & service.

·    Serves as the face of the organization to internal and external partners.

·    Submits parts requisition to Parts & Service Coordinator.

·    Advises management of condition of equipment & any unusual problems/concerns that may arise.

·    Assists with periodic inventory.

·    Makes data-informed decisions to drive performance & resource allocation.

·    Develops and maintains relationships with key clients.

Qualification Requirements

·    Possesses a driver’s license with an insurable driving record (VADC insurance carrier provides coverage).

·    Demonstrates excellent verbal & written communication skills while working directly with customers, vendors, and other associates communicating status, tasks, & reporting job elements appropriately.

·    Ability to work 8-10 hour shift & extended shift overtime & weekends on occasion (20%).

·    Ability to work in a noisy non-temperature controlled environment.

·    Ability to lift, push, and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs.

·    Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.

·    Ability to learn technical aspects of commercial laundry industry and equipment.

·    Traveling & overnight stays occasionally (10%).

·    Ability to follow instructions exactly, with a high-level of attention to detail/precision.
