About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department Observation Unit – Maryland

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Randallstown, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; every other weekend required; unit utilizes self-scheduling

Highlights:

• Emergency Department Observation Unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5 across all shifts
• Strong focus on cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Cerner EMR system in use
• Floating within scope required based on facility needs
• No on-call requirement; collaborative interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 7 years of RN experience required
• Strong cardiac telemetry experience required; ER holding and PCU/Stepdown experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Extensive experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Proficiency in temporary and permanent pacemaker management
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code Team protocols
• Demonstrated competency in pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure management
• Skilled in blood product administration, central line, peripheral line, and PICC line management
• Proficient in phlebotomy and IV initiation and maintenance
• Heparin protocol and non-titratable cardiac drip management experience required
• CVA/stroke care experience required
• Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oxygen tank management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound/wound vac care
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
