As an Employment Advisor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to job seekers, assisting them in their journey to secure meaningful employment opportunities. Through in-person visits, phone calls, and email correspondence, you will assess clients' employment needs, strengths, skills, interests, career goals, and areas for development. You will provide advice on resume writing, interview preparation, navigating the JobsND.com website, and filing unemployment insurance claims (if needed), provide Labor Market Information, direct to training opportunities, services, and other resources, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market. You will also provide administrative service support including, but not limited to, data entry and processing incoming/outgoing mail. This position reports directly to the Workforce Center Manager within the Wahpeton Workforce Center. Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent At least four (4) years of related work experience Related college-level coursework may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate finds joy in helping others succeed and working in-person in a collaborative and fun team environment. We're looking for someone who excels at creating a supportive and inclusive environment where all clients can feel valued and understood, regardless of their background, skillset, experiences, and perspectives. You must be customer service driven, a strong communicator, comfortable working in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Outlook), eager to lend a helping hand and work one-on-one with clients, enjoy problem-solving to meet individual needs, and provide comprehensive employment support. Prior experience in teaching, career counseling, human resources, or a related field is beneficial but we welcome anyone who can demonstrate relevant experience and/or education, is self‑motivated, and finds reward in helping others succeed.
