Find your calling at Mercy! Overview Operate a Mercy patient transport van, performing pick‑up and delivery of patients consistent with established guidelines of practice. Responsibilities Safe and proper transfer of non‑ambulatory patients to and from the wheelchair. Safe transport of patients via the wheelchair. Ambulation assistance to and from the transport van for ambulatory patients. Proper and safe transport of both non‑ambulatory and ambulatory patients via the transport van. Inspect the transport van daily and report any deficiencies to management promptly. Keep the vehicle clean and sufficiently fueled. Perform related duties as assigned; provide exceptional customer service to all in keeping with Mercy's mission, values and Service Standards. Position Details Courtesy Van Driver – Part Time – Days – Mercy – Fort Smith Requirements Valid Class E or equivalent driver’s license and current valid driver’s license in all applicable states. BLS certification. Competent with transfer and lift techniques and utilization of a gait belt for ambulatory patients. Competent with disconnecting wall oxygen and transferring to portable oxygen with accurate liter setting for transport. Competent with operating the wheelchair lift and securing system. Good customer service skills. Ability to communicate clearly by use of UHF radio with dispatch. Ensure vehicle is kept clean and serviced appropriately. Report all defects to manager. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma/GED. 1+ year(s) experience driving passengers using a transport van or equivalent.
