Line Cook

Position Chef / Cook (non‑exempt) Salaries Hourly: $16 - $24 Responsibilities Ensure highest quality of culinary services for guests. Prepare food quickly, safely, and efficiently according to standards. Follow portion control procedures to minimize waste and maximize profitability. Use technology to recognize and complete food ticket orders. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, equipment, countertops, walk‑in coolers, and storage areas. Assist with inventory management: monitor stock, rotate ingredients, label prep items, receive supplies, and notify chef or manager of shortages or discrepancies. Collaborate with kitchen team to maintain efficient workflow and communicate effectively to ensure timely preparation and service of meals. Assist with dishwashing and food prep duties as needed. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation at all times. Follow all safety procedures. Execute opening and closing procedures. Remove trash, safely operate a trash compactor, and ensure cleanliness of the trash compactor area. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a cook in a high‑volume environment. Strong knowledge of cooking methods and techniques. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time; lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and reach for long periods. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs. Lift and carry heavy trays and multiple plates from kitchen to tables.
