Travel Respiratory Therapist - Certified RT/CRT

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent proficiency for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital within the Yale New Haven Health System.

Job Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System,
• Unit focuses on respiratory and neuro diagnostics,
• Rotating float position - travelers should expect to rotate through all areas of the hospital, including NICU and pediatric units, based on census and staffing needs,
• Will float between two campuses as needed,
• NICU experience is preferred but not required,
• Charting via Epic,
• 4x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM),
• Every other weekend required,
• Holiday coverage required,
• Free parking available on-site,

Job Requirements

• Current CRT or RRT certification required,
• Active state RT license required if applicable,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience,
• Level II Trauma Center experience required,
• Draeger ventilator experience required,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates,

Additional Information

• NICU and pediatric unit float coverage may be required based on staffing and census needs,
• Travelers may be asked to assist with orienting students or new hires as needed,
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted,
• COVID vaccination exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only,
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered,
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional RTO will not be approved after acceptance,
• 1 reference required for consideration,
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
