Overview:

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Nurse Manager of Surgical Services in Suffolk, VA!

Hours: 7:00-3:30 Monday-Friday - Occasional weekends and evening hour s

The Nurse Manager of Surgical Services can expect around 45 direct reports including RN's, Unit Coordinators, Surgical Assistants and CSTs. This is an 8-bed operating room with 5 Licensed OR beds and 1 procedure room. Services include General, Bariatric, Vascular, Ortho, GYN, Podiatry, and plans on expanding to trauma level 3 room. Hours are primarily 8 hour days with 24/7 accountability - some flexibility to meet with evening, weekend, and night shift staff is expected.

The Clinical Nurse Manager has overall accountability for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care services staff, ensures excellent patient safety and quality outcomes as well as extraordinary patient/family experience. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining staff with the goal of developing a highly reliable team. Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. Assists in the development and monitoring of unit budget, coordinates purchasing and payroll processes and serves as a clinical resource to team members.

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required)
• MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• Nationally recognized certification CNOR (Preferred)

Experience

• 3 years of nursing experience in the OR (Required)
• 3 years of supervisory experience (required)
• 5+ years of nursing experience (preferred)
• Quality outcomes experience (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $123,572.80 - $188,635.20 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
