Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.Job Summary Intermediate level engineer responsible for independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Uses judgement in applying or recommending adaptions and modifications. Typical assignments are in the areas of engineering or scientific design, problem solving, and technical support for the optimum operation and maintenance of company assets. Participates on teams of field employees, technicians, engineers and other personnel. Key Accountabilities Performs engineering assignments, proposing solutions to engineering related problems. Works with experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization. Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints. Develops models and analyzes data in order to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs; develops and presents presentations to all levels of management and/or external parties. May provide field engineering assistance or technical support. Keeps up to date on current technology and market/technology trends.Minimum Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum of 2 years of job relevant experienceOther QualificationsPreferredElectrical or Computer Engineering degreeEngineer-in-Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license Experience with implementation of data analytics or historian toolsExperience working with functional block logic on RTAC or PLC platformModbus, DNP or other industrial communication protocol experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and WordExperience with platforms such as: SEL, Ignition, GE SCADA Other RequirementsIntermediate analytical and problem solving skillsStrong time management, prioritization, and organization skillsProficient communication and interpersonal skillsAdditional InformationIncumbents may engage in all or some combination of the activities and accountabilities, and utilize a variety of the competencies cited in this description depending upon the organization and role to which they are assigned.
