Registered Nurse Shift Supervisor (RN) - L&D

This position is part of the departmental leadership team that provides clinical supervision on a shift basis, including: Coordination and assignment of patient care Unit patient‑flow coordinator, facilitating admissions, discharges and transfers Coordinating unit staffing for the next shift with the Director/Clinical Manager, Coordinator and/or House Officer Serving as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for staff Providing supervisory input into department staff evaluations and performance reviews The incumbent will complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Preferred Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nursing or an advanced degree in a related field Minimum Experience: 1 year in an equivalent unit Preferred Experience: 4 years in an equivalent unit Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse Preferred Certifications/Licensure: National Specialty Certification Required Courses / Completions (e.g., CPR) Must have an active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain an AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS/TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention are required depending on the department hired.
