Recreation Program Supervisor

Job Description An employee in this class performs a variety of administrative and recreation programming duties in the development and implementation of athletic and recreation activities. The employee organizes, schedules, and plans programs, develops and administers the program budget, and coordinates activities. The employee prepares promotional materials, recruits and coordinates limited-service workers and volunteers, manages corresponding records and payroll, manages program registration, and handles any problems or issues that arise. Work subjects the employee to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme hot and cold temperatures, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, and gases. Work may be subject to the standards of OSHA blood-borne pathogens. Work requires extensive public contact with the general public, city and county staff, local business owners, and community organizations in the promotion and implementation of recreation programs. Hours may vary depending on program needs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director and is reviewed through observation, reports, results obtained, and community acceptance of programs. Qualifications High school diploma required. College education desired and some athletics and recreation programming experience.
