Unit Secretary - Pain Clinic, Part Time

Position Overview Unit Secretary – Pain Clinic, Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Scheduled weekly hours: 32, Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm; day off will vary. The unit secretary performs clerical, receptionist, and unit‑coordinating duties in the Pain Clinic, which is open Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm. The role requires adherence to SMH policies, CDC and OSHA standards, and applicable regulatory or accreditation agency guidelines. Responsibilities Provide clerical and receptionist services, including answering telephone calls, greeting patients, and managing patient records. Coordinate unit operations and support smooth clinic workflow, prioritizing tasks and multi‑tasking as needed. Utilize computer systems, including Microsoft Office; experience with Meditech and/or Cerner is a plus. Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and quality control standards. Required Qualifications Minimum of one year of clerical experience or completion of at least one full semester of nursing school with clinical experience. Excellent secretarial and customer‑service skills, with strong organizational abilities, accuracy, and flexibility. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Effective communication skills, interacting with patients and staff of all age levels. Capacity to manage essential functions without posing a direct threat to health and safety of self or others. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with Meditech or Cerner. Unit secretary or other administrative office experience. Successful completion of orientation. Associate or Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Salary and Benefits Salary range: $17.64–$26.58 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education.
