Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse for a winter contract with options for 13 or 18 weeks. The role involves providing specialized care to oncology and hematology patients within a fast-paced, mixed acuity unit requiring strong clinical skills and flexibility across multiple units.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other high-risk medications following clinical standards.
• Float across Stepdown, Advanced Care, and other units as assigned, supporting the nursing team with diverse patient care needs.
• Complete required competencies including online EKG tele assessment, and interpret strips during shifts.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records efficiently for documentation and patient management.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including N95 fitting and respiratory precautions.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care in a high-risk environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in any active state or compact license.
• At least 1.5 years of RN experience with recent SD/PCU work, excluding ICU, with 1:5 patient ratio experience.
• Proven competency in EPIC charting and interpretation of EKGs/dysrhythmias.
• Oncology experience and chemotherapy certification preferred; sickle cell experience is a plus.
• Ability to work every other holiday/weekend and maintain flexibility for float assignments.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; must pass tele competency assessment.
