Details\n \n Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department at a Level I/Level II Trauma Center \n Fast-paced teaching hospital environment averaging approximately 265 patients per day with 53 rooms \n Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults \n 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM \n Every other weekend required based on departmental needs \n 36 hours of orientation provided \n 24/7 provider coverage including NP, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist \n Support services available including Interpretation, IV Team, Phlebotomy, PT, Radiology, Rapid Response, Respiratory, Social Services, and Transportation \n Requirements\n \n Active New York State RN license required \n Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications \n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required \n Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience required \n General Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients required \n EPIC charting experience required \n Skilled in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and multisystem organ dysfunction management \n Experience with blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts/maintenance \n Proficient in continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors \n Experience with procedural sedation monitoring and CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia protocols \n Skilled in orthopedic trauma and pediatric abdominal pain, infection, respiratory infection, and seizure management \n Experience managing acute psychosis, drug overdose, psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and violent behavior \n Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and intubation \n Experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations \n Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use \n COVID vaccine required with no exceptions \n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency care to a wide range of patients from neonates through adults \n Utilize EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication administration \n Hunter Green scrubs required \n Previous charge nurse experience preferred \n Teaching hospital, LTAC, and community hospital experience preferred \n First-time travelers are accepted \n Local candidates accepted at the same rate \n RTO of 5 days or less permitted, with none allowed within the first 2 weeks of the assignment \n Previous staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler \n Employee parking garage access provided at no fee; street parking also available \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-755864.
