PEDS Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) - FT - Nights - Jeff Hwy

Overview This Respiratory Therapist (RT-CRT) provides respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric in both in‑patient and out‑patient settings. Responsibilities Set up, monitor, and wean patients on oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation. Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways. Provide services as ordered by a physician and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy and procedure. Review and document all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and co‑workers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures and provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient served. Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy and adjusting communication style. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Education: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Work Experience: None required. Certifications: Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist; NRCP Registered Respiratory Therapist; Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval; effective verbal and written communication; proficiency with Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software; strong interpersonal skills; dexterity for data entry. Physical and Environmental Demands The job requires frequent lifting and moving of equipment, stooping, bending, reaching, and grabbing with arms and hands. Employees may need to sit or stand for prolonged periods, travel between facilities, and work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call). Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues is a routine part of the role, as is potential exposure to hazardous medications and waste.
