RN Med Surg Nights B2

Position B2 Ortho/Neuro/Surgical Tele Unit and Wound Care. Shift Nights 6:45pm-7:15am, 12-hour shifts per week, 6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks. Patient Population Patients with liver/kidney disorders, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, diabetes, chronic diseases, appendicitis, cholecystitis, and wound care. Department Specifics 1:4/5 patient ratios, 30 beds. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient transport. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Build relationships, manage discomfort, maintain professionalism with patients and families. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members about health and care plans. Collaborate with colleagues and the community to create and implement care plans. Delegate tasks and follow up promptly. Use problem‑solving strategies and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Contribute to peer development and demonstrate community service commitment. Key Success Factors Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, guidelines. Proficiency in medical terminology and common medications. Respect for ethics and patient privacy. Exceptional communication skills.
