The ideal candidate is an adaptable problem solver who can enhance automation systems to support the client goals.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining, improving, and developing level 2 automation systems for the client's hot strip mill Developing software solutions using a range of programming languages including FORTRAN, C++, and C# Maintaining databases that record critical process data Conducting incident investigations using specialized tools such as IBA Conducting statistical analysis to tune physical models and improve system performance Maintaining digital tools including human machine interfaces (HMI’s) and shop-floor camera systems Demonstrating the company values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and Sustainability Fulfilling the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment Fulfilling the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment Demonstrating commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect Ensuring working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and ISO 17025 QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in a field related to engineering, computer science, or data science Proficiency in computer programming Experience working in a production environment Experience working in the metals industry Experience working in level 2 process automation (according to the Purdue Model) Experience in software development, especially .NET framework and C-family languages Experience working with SQL databases such as Oracle SQL Experience working with human machine interfaces (HMI’s) such as WinCC Demonstrated ability to effectively make decisions using analytical and problem-solving skills Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build partnerships, and seek “win-win” solutions to meet business objectives Ability to quickly learn new concepts in multiple domains including process automation and information technology Ability to work autonomously alongside other teams to identify and resolve process issues Ability to learn complex industrial and physical processes at a deep level of understanding We thank all applicants for their interest.
