Location: Brooklyn, NY 11201 (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $32.00 / hour ( W2 Direct Employment Only )

Schedule: Full-Time, 35 Hours/Week (Mon-Fri: 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, or 10am-6pm)

Duration: 3-6 Month Contract (With extension potential)

Start Date: Immediate upon medical clearance
About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Dental Assistant to join a fast-paced Oral Surgery Department in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you will work directly alongside dental residents, students, and oral surgeons, providing chairside assistance during complex surgical procedures, IV sedation, and patient monitoring.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a clinical professional to deepen their oral surgery expertise within a highly collaborative academic/clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Surgical Chairside Assistance: Provide four-handed chairside assistance during oral surgical procedures, minor dental operations, and casting preparation.
  
  
• Sedation & Patient Monitoring: Assist in the administration of IV sedation and monitor patient vital signs throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-operative care.
  
  
• Resident & Student Support: Guide and assist dental residents and students with clinical workflows, instrument passing, and patient setup.
  
  
• Medication & Patient Instruction: Dispense prescribed medications under clinician direction and deliver clear post-operative care instructions to patients.
  
  
• Lab & Hazard Compliance: Operate standard dental lab equipment and ensure strict compliance with hazardous material handling, chemical disposal, and infection control protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Training Program (CDA preferred).
  
  
• Experience: 2+ years of clinical dental assisting experience, including 1-2 years specifically in Oral Surgery with IV Sedation / General Anesthesia .
  
  
• Clinical Skills: Proficient in four-handed chairside dental techniques, dental lab equipment operation, and surgical tray setup.
  
  
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal communication, patient care demeanor, and ability to work effectively with dental residents and faculty.
