Job Description: The Department of Psychology at Binghamton University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Clinical Science Ph.D. Program, with a research focus on schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses (SMI). Our program holds dual accreditation from PCSAS and the APA Commission on Accreditation and is a member of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science. We seek a clinical scientist whose research advances mechanistic understanding of psychotic and SMI, including etiology, assessment development, and intervention research. Methodological approach is open and may include cognitive, neural, psychophysiological, computational, social, or psychosocial approaches. Candidates are especially encouraged to apply if their methods take advantage of the Brain and Body Imaging Research Center (BBIRC), a 3T Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma facility opened in 2023 through partnership with United Health Services, or who would build collaborations with the Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC) and the OnTrackNY early-psychosis program. The Department values scholarship that bridges scientific rigor with community impact. The Psychology Department consists of 48 faculty members in three doctoral programs (Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical Science, and Cognitive and Brain Sciences), as well as eight teaching faculty offering additional expertise in developmental, school, forensic, and social psychology. Requirements: Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or a related discipline by August 16, 2027.
- An active program of research as demonstrated by a history of peer-reviewed publications and/or extramural funding.
- Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses
- New York State licensure eligibility
