- Proven capability to integrate rigorous security controls into complex hardware-software boundaries.
- Ability to execute security engineering end-to-end throughout both new and legacy product lifecycles.
Important Skill-Set, Technologies, Certifications, and Methodologies:
- Embedded Cybersecurity Foundations
- Cryptography & Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Secure Boot & Firmware Security
- Threat Modeling & Threat Analysis
- Vulnerability Mitigation
- Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) & Electro-Mechanical Systems
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly specialized Embedded Cybersecurity Engineer with deep expertise in safeguarding electro-mechanical devices. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating comprehensive security layers directly into the design, development, and architecture of embedded real-time software. You will act as a core technical gatekeeper, performing threat analysis, secure coding practices, and vulnerability mitigations across the entire product lifecycle to shield critical firmware from sophisticated vectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate end-to-end security architectures into the design and development of embedded real-time software for electro-mechanical devices.
- Conduct systemic Threat Modeling and Threat Analysis to discover potential vectors and minimize attack surfaces.
- Implement and execute Vulnerability Mitigation strategies and secure coding methodologies throughout new and existing product lifecycles.
- Architect and configure Secure Boot structures, cryptographic primitives, and secure firmware update mechanisms.
- Manage and deploy Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)configurations, including key generation, digital signatures, and certificate lifecycles for hardware components.
Essential Skills:
- Strong professional experience working as a Software or Firmware Security Engineer within an embedded systems environment.
- Deep technical hands-on knowledge of Embedded Cybersecurity constructs, including hardware-based security elements.
- Advanced understanding of Cryptography implementation (e.g., symmetric/asymmetric algorithms, hashing, encryption at rest/in transit).
- Mastery of Secure Boot protocols, firmware signing, and secure enclave integration.
- Strong background in writing and auditing secure low-level code (C/C++) for real-time applications.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working under stringent regulatory or compliance frameworks governing connected physical devices (e.g., medical, automotive, or industrial IoT security standards).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Embedded Hardware Security Professional, or equivalent credentials.
- Familiarity with hardware-level debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers) and secure communication protocols.
Keywords in your resume:
Embedded Cybersecurity, Firmware Security, Secure Boot, Cryptography, PKI, Threat Modeling, Vulnerability Mitigation, Threat Analysis, Secure Coding, Electro-Mechanical Devices, Real-Time Software, RTOS, Encryption, Key Management, C/C++.
