Title: IT Helpdesk Specialist
Location: Honolulu, Hawai
Payrate: $30/h-$35/h
IT Technician – Retail Technology | Contract
We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to provide Tier 1/Tier 2 and onsite technical support for retail technology systems across store locations. This role will troubleshoot business-critical systems while providing responsive and professional support to store employees and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite and remote technical support for retail locations.
Troubleshoot Gilbarco Passport POS systems, Verifone PIN pads, payment devices, computers, printers, and peripherals.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, payment processing, and network connectivity issues.
Support switches, routers, wireless access points, TCP/IP, VPN, and retail network infrastructure.
Support fuel dispenser interfaces, loyalty systems, and fuel-site communications technology.
Respond to incidents and service requests within established SLAs and document troubleshooting and resolutions in ticketing systems.
Perform software updates, equipment replacements, system maintenance, and technology deployments.
Support new store openings, remodels, and technology refresh projects.
Maintain accurate IT asset and equipment inventory.
Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal IT teams on complex technical issues.
Follow IT security, compliance, and operational procedures while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
Previous 3 years of experience in retail IT, convenience stores, fuel retail, or similar environments preferred.
Experience with Gilbarco Passport POS and Verifone payment systems strongly preferred.
Knowledge of fuel dispenser technology, EMV payment devices, TCP/IP, VPN, and wireless networking.
Familiarity with ticketing systems, asset management, and ITIL/service management practices.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service skills.
Ability to work independently and provide onsite support as required.
