Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Expected 4–5 weekend shifts per 4-week period with holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed inpatient General Neurology, Medical Stroke, and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Manage care for patients with diagnoses including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, seizures, and medically managed strokes
• Support continuous epilepsy monitoring for patients in hard-wired monitoring rooms
• Care for overflow neurosurgical and spine surgery patients as needed, supporting Comprehensive Spine Center and Comprehensive Epilepsy Center programs
• Float within scope to sister units to meet facility needs as required
• Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November), as required by facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license required ; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application or confirmation of eligibility for the SC walk-through process — facility clearance will not occur until SC license is active
• BLS certification required
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Prior experience in a neurology, stroke, or epilepsy monitoring setting
