Relief Nurse (Internal Registry)

The team member we are looking for will:

Advance the health of our patients and our communities by providing outstanding care.

Essential job functions include:

  • Providing direct patient care for patients that require specialty services and nursing care.
  • Assuming responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care delegation and coordination of nursing care and utilization of the nursing process as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Providing patient and family education.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with patients and as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Performing work with integrity and in compliance with professional nursing practice standards policies and procedures, respecting patients' privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements to qualify:

One (1) year experience within the last five years as a registered nurse providing acute direct patient care in a hospital -AND- A current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing. -AND- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) Program certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).* -AND- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

Additional information:

This examination will consist of an evaluation of training and experience based up on the application information, desirable qualifications, and supplemental questionnaire, weighted 100%. Applicants must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to be included on the eligible list.

Hiring managers within DHS will use this list to fill vacancies as they become available. Applications received before expiration from the eligible register will be rejected. Applicants who applied and did not meet the Requirements when submitting their application may reapply 30 days after their most recent application date.

You may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
