Ignite the Power of Communication in Coastal Alabama – Your Journey as a Speech Language Pathologist Starts Here
What if your next professional chapter could transform lives through the art of speech? Imagine yourself thriving as a Speech Language Pathologist in the beautiful surroundings of Mobile, Alabama, where your expertise will extend beyond addressing communication and swallowing disorders. Your role will be pivotal in unlocking the potential within individuals, providing a voice to the voiceless, and building bridges that connect us all — from children discovering their first utterances to older adults striving for renewed independence.
This exciting position offers the chance to cater to diverse populations, embracing the complexities of speech therapy in a dynamic environment that includes outpatient therapy alongside occasional inpatient duties. Whether your heart lies in pediatric linguistics, tackling adult neurogenic disorders, or focusing on cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for the elderly, you will find satisfaction and flexibility in your daily endeavors.
Conduct thorough evaluations across all age groups employing both standardized assessments and observational tools.
Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate goals and long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that emphasize language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Partner with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure integrated care plans.
Educate patients and their families to facilitate their progress beyond clinical settings.
Support occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring continuous care throughout their progress.
Document care meticulously and promptly, in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of emerging trends through continuous education and teamwork.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
State license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of joining.
Expertise in evidence-informed practices for all age ranges, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to tailor therapy methods to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Flexible scheduling to promote work-life harmony along with varied caseloads.
Options to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
Funding for continuing education and professional growth initiatives.
A supportive, collaborative environment centered on high-quality care and ongoing learning.
In this role, you won't just provide speech therapy; you'll join a mission that deeply values restoring voices, enhancing communication, and creating joyful connections through the simple yet profound elements of understanding and being understood.
You will collaborate with a team that treats one another like family, flourishing in a workplace that thrives on collaboration rather than competition. Each patient holds a unique narrative; we trust you to help curate how it's shared.
